Communication Matters ... more than just talking

Tristan - Front Page Photo

AAC is used to help people express themselves. Some people find communication difficult because they have little or no clear speech. Those with autism spectrum disorders, find spoken communication difficult because they do not understand how language works and may find it difficult to connect socially. A more concrete form of communication may be easier to use.

To simplify the modeling process for anyone working with Tristan, we decided to assemble pathways to words for workbooks, casual reading books and worksheets. In completing this task, the pathways for words are captured in an alphabetical database so these individual words can be looked at or printed easily also.

We wanted anyone working with Tristan to have a book in front of them with the core words and their pathways at their fingertips so they don't have to search for words on the device. We feel in providing core words and their pathways right in front of a person, modeling is much easier and more fluid.

It is our intention for this site to grow with more resources for the Autism and SCN8A communities. Please check back regularly.
